BC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program
The Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program (FMNCP) is a healthy eating initiative that supports farmers’ markets and strengthens food security across British Columbia.
Community partner organizations provide coupons to lower-income families, pregnant people and seniors participating in their food literacy programs.
Coupons can be spent at all BCAFM member farmers’ markets that participate in the FMNCP, and can be used to purchase vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, dairy, herbs, vegetable & fruit plants, honey, meat and fish.
Households enrolled in the program may receive $27/week in coupons for up to 16 weeks. The amount and frequency and duration can vary according to each partner’s program guidelines and the length of the Farmer’s Market season in the community.
Coupons can be used at any participating BC Farmers’ Market from June 4th – December 18th, 2023. Not all BC Farmers Markets operate during that entire period.
In 2022, the Cedar Farmers Market distributed over $25,000 worth off coupons to be spent on locally grown farm foods.

FAQs
To be eligible to access the program, someone in your household must be:
- A senior, have children under 19 at home, or be pregnant; and
- Identify as having a low-income; and
- Commit to participate in food literacy programming.

2023 Applications
July 22, 2023 Update: We are currently using a wait list application. We are fundraising to provide additional coupons to community members. We will also use this application list to notify applicants when the 2024 applications launch.
